About ARH Mediations

National Mediation Guided by Real-World Legal Experience

ARH Mediations was created to give individuals, families, and businesses a better way to resolve disputes: privately, efficiently, and with the guidance of a seasoned lawyer–mediator who understands both the courtroom and the conference room.

Led by Alejandro R. Hernandez, a lawyer for over two decades, ARH Mediations focuses on resolving conflicts in real estate, business, probate and trust matters, and family-related disputes across the United States. We regularly work with parties and counsel in New York, California, and Texas, and conduct many mediations entirely by Zoom to accommodate busy schedules and multi-state parties.

Our goal is simple:
Help you reach a practical, fair resolution so you can move on with your life and your business.

Meet Alejandro R. Hernandez

Alex has spent more than twenty years in the legal world handling real estate, business, probate, trust, and civil litigation matters. That experience showed him a hard truth: by the time a case reaches trial, everyone is exhausted—emotionally, financially, and sometimes physically.

ARH Mediations was born out of that reality.

As a former probate and trial lawyer, Alex understands the pressure attorneys are under, the expectations of clients, and the risks and uncertainty of leaving a case in the hands of a judge or jury. As a mediator, he uses that insight to help parties:

  • See the strengths and weaknesses of their positions
  • Evaluate risk versus reward realistically
  • Explore creative settlement options that a court may never be able to order

Alex brings a calm, grounded presence to highly charged situations and is known for being direct, practical, and respectful with everyone at the table.

He is also bilingual (English/Spanish) and frequently mediates matters involving Spanish-speaking clients and families.

What We Do

ARH Mediations focuses on disputes where experience in law, business, and real estate truly matters, including:

  • Real Estate & Brokerage Disputes
Commission disputes, buyer–seller conflicts, nondisclosure claims, disputes with prior brokers or agents, and conflicts arising from investment properties and joint ventures.
  • Business & Partnership Conflicts
Breakdowns between business partners, LLC members, investors, and co-founders; disputes over management, profit-sharing, buyouts, and exit strategies.
  • Probate, Trust & Estate-Related Disputes
Conflicts between heirs, executors, trustees, and beneficiaries; disputes involving the sale of estate or trust property, accounting disagreements, and challenges over how assets are handled.
  • Family-Connected Financial & Property Issues
Family business disagreements, property co-ownership disputes, and other high-emotion conflicts where relationships and money are deeply intertwined.

We regularly work with individuals, families, business owners, real estate professionals, investors, and their attorneys.

How Our Mediation Process Works

We design mediations to be structured but flexible, respecting both the legal issues and the human dynamics involved.

  1. Pre-Mediation Intake
We review background materials, pleadings (if any), key documents, and confidential briefs from counsel or unrepresented parties to understand the dispute and the desired outcomes.
  2. Private & Joint Sessions
Depending on the case, we may hold joint opening sessions or work primarily in private caucuses. Alex will meet separately with each side to explore their concerns, goals, and settlement ranges.
  3. Reality-Testing & Options
Drawing on years of litigation and negotiation experience, Alex helps parties realistically assess their alternatives to settlement, litigation risks, and costs, while also surfacing creative solutions that may not be obvious at first.
  4. Resolution & Documentation
When an agreement is reached, we work with the parties (and counsel, if present) to ensure the key terms are clearly documented so the settlement can be formalized without confusion.
  5. Remote & Multi-State Flexibility
Many mediations are conducted via Zoom, allowing parties in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, and beyond to participate without travel, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Why Clients and Law Firms Choose ARH Mediations

  • 20+ Years as a Lawyer – Alex understands how judges think, how cases develop, and what it really means to “win” or “lose” after months or years of litigation.
  • Real Estate & Probate Depth – With a strong background in real estate, probate and trust matters, we are particularly well-suited for disputes involving property, family estates, and complex financial structures.
  • Business & Practical Mindset – We focus on workable solutions, not academic arguments. The question is always: What will actually solve this problem for you going forward?
  • Neutral, Respectful, and Direct – We listen carefully, speak plainly, and treat all parties with respect, even when emotions are running high.
  • National Reach – While centered on New York, California, and Texas, we mediate matters involving parties across the country.
  • Bilingual Services – English and Spanish language support help keep everyone informed and engaged in the process.
